They say it gets easier every time you do it.  I'm not so sure.

Most modern bikes with fairings are a bit of a pain to work on I'm sure, that's just the way it is. :002:

I am pretty sure that the TTSE is exceptionally difficult and thatís why it is no longer in production.

At the end of the day the bike just didn't sell in huge numbers, that's going to be number one reason why Triumph pulled the plug on it,......I doubt that how complex it is to take apart/work on would have been an issue to them, most potential buyers/owners would have taken it back to the dealers come servicing time anyway.

I did the 30,000 mile service on Trophy and it is a pain to get it apart and back together, but I think it is easier than my Goldwing was.
My thoughts on why the Trophy was discontinued! I thing Triumph did a bad job of advertising the Trophy, I donít know how many times I have been asked what kind of bike is that! I donít think it was the maintenance, because they are all hard to work on today.

I don't think the comparison with a gold wing is valid as the TTSE is billed as a "Sports Tourer". It's only my opinion that it's demise is the service costs as the local Triumph dealer quoted me £800 for the 20K service and other owners have also stated high service costs.  I carried out the 10K service myself as I have plenty of spanner time under my belt and when doing the 10K found that there were some of the hidden fairing bolts missing and other minor issues not as they should be so probably from its first dealer service so decided to do the 20K also. The TTSE is a great bike and I bought mine with 2K on the clock 2 years ago and have done just under 18K with three trips to the EU loaded up with me and my wife. The finishing under the plastic could be better but again that's my opinion  :018:

Wise move on deciding to work on the bike yourself, you just can't trust the mechanics in the dealerships hey.
I've never let any garage work on any vehicle I've owned so have no experience on cost over the years but I gather that any modern bike with a fairing will be costly,....just due to the time it takes to remove them.
