    Contemplating Trophy purchase

I'm in Phoenix AZ and looking at switching from a 2000 Yamaha Roadstar/Wildstar to either a 2015 or a 2017 Trophy.  Same mileage, almost same color. is one year better than the other?

Are you sure that you want to switch to a totally different style of bike in the first place? I think the Trophy is great but have you even had a test ride for example??

Apart from the 2017 having a slightly different handlebar switchgear, I'm not sure if there were much difference?
It's the first batch of bikes/engines that had head problems and main stand problems,....the 2015 should be safe but best check engine number on line.

Personally I'd buy the newest one I could because I'd be keeping it for many years to come.

Hi Swright50 and :400: to the Forum !

    Same mileage, almost same color.

     :435:

There were only 3 colours produced :

    Lunar Silver,
    Pacifc Blue,
and in later years Phantom Black.

If you're looking at two Trophies with different shades of blue, for example,
then one of them has been re-sprayed, and I'd want to find out why,
    before committing to a purchase !  :169:

    Cheers  :821:

The Trophy is a different style of bike to the one you have now. I would recommend a test drive to see if it suits you. It certainly suits plenty of people here.
I would go for the 2017, merely because it is the newer model, though there are very few differences between the two.

I wonder if the original poster meant almost the same colour as his existing bike?

    Just a thought...

That was the way I took his comment.  I think a test ride is in order!

On the topic of color, they are both the Phantom Black.  The 2017 has a black/silver top box and the 2015 has all black.  The '17 also looks like an aftermarket exhaust.  Also the '17 has the factory tank bag.  I'm going to ride one in the next day or two.

Thanks for clearing that up !  :164:

The Test Ride is guaranteed to have you Sold on a Trophy,
so it will probably all boil down to the price.

    Cheers  :821:
