Hi guys - not sure where to post this so thought I’d start here.
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Rules & Procedures for meet-ups & ride outs.
As you all agree, this is a terrible Nasty disease that’s spreading Rapidly and killing thousands. Firstly my heart goes out to all those affected.
In the UK we are at the start of the riding season when many of us are looking forward to getting out on our bikes to ride & meet-up with other.
I’m looking forward to riding out but don’t know what’s going to happen in terms of restriction on gatherings or lockdown.
So I thought I’d start a thread on sensible precautions we could take to minimise and reduce the risk to ourselves and others. This will affect us all.
I’m not sure if it’s fortunate that we wear protective gear and wether it would help in stopping the spread. I’m sure the covering of mouth and nose with a scarf, neckerchief or bandana etc would act as a shield even with helmet removed.
I see on the news people whom cue for shopping are to keep a distance of 1 meter apart.
Whilst we are waiting for this terrible event to play out perhaps we could all agree on some basic rules & principle whilst we are out and about on our bikes. These being without favour or malice intended as we greet others.
I suggest:-
No handshakes - hugs - kisses (or close contact)
Keeping 1meter apart
Keeping mouth & nose covered (loose neckerchief) whilst in close proximity to others.
Exchanging welcomes with a nod gesture, arm or leg bump.
If we act in this way then surely we can still have some enjoyment & freedom without upsetting other.
Also, as a community of bikers, what also can we do for others in need. How can we assist - food shopping - checking on people.....
What do you all think?

I ask the moderators to happily take over this thread and expand / amend accordingly to the advice given by the government.
