Audio Unit software versions - up to date?
    on: Mar 25, 2020, 09.32 pm

Hello there, I'm new to the forum after buying my first trophy a few days ago.
First impression is very good, alot better then a twin cam RT I had!
Question, I've checked the software version and it's 1.03A for the Radio and 0.17A for the BB SW.
    Is this the latest version?
    Thanks James

As far as I know (and that isn't really very far  :008:), the 104.A would only be an issue in the US where that version interacted with satellite radio to cause battery drain issues.  I think that version in the UK is fine, but your other than satellite radio reception there is a whole different issue.

From what I understand, is that version 1.04E is the latest version installed in trophy, which is for all countries except the United States

The latest version of the United States
    Updated to 1.04A.

My version is old, like the one Anglian001 carries.

References to Version 1.04E ONLY apply to the US and Canadian markets
where they have XM Satellite Radio.

Version 1.04 A - for the US & Canadian market, contained a "bug" that intermittently
prevented the XM Radio Module from shutting down when the Ignition was switched off,
resulting in the Main Battery being drained.  Version 1.04 E Fixed that issue.

In the UK ( and Europe ? ) the original Audio Software Version was 1.03A,
and on later Models Version 1.04A was used.

I have no information as to any differences between Version 1.03A and 1.04A in the UK,
but a Triumph Dealer may be able to find out for you, or you could try emailing :
after.sales@triumph.co.uk  and asking the question to find out whether
it might be worthwhile updating to Version 1.04A.

The "BB SW" version is of no concern.

    Cheers  :821:

Coconut, it could be that the difference between both versions, is the problem that when you press the horn button, the music stops for a few seconds.

I understand that he has version 1.04A no longer stops the music when pressing the horn button.

Last year I stopped by the dealer to see if they could update me to the latest version 1.04A and they told me they didn't have the file to update it. As always some dealers are very splendid when it comes to helping. If it had been some other type of repair or overhaul, they would have lost their butts for helping and collecting a byen money. But by updating the radio's software they don't get wet.

The audio/radio system on the Trophy SE is manufactured by Radio Sound USA.

I contacted Radio Sound last year due to issues with the radio software and I must admit that customer service is not what they're used to offer.

My bike was first sold in Belgium in 2014 and I imported it to Denmark last year.

Anyway, the 2nd answer I got from Radio Sound was quite interesting, as I've heard some of you mentioned, that ver. 1.04E was only for the US market, which doesn't seem to be true, according to Radio Sound - it also fixed my issues with the radio, which previously keeps shutting off and on or even worse when the system hangs after powering off the bike and drained the battery.

Quote Radio Sound: "The 1.04E update included the European models too, not just US and Canada.  Unfortunately, Triumph no longer supports the radio and audio system so the update is only available with a radio exchange or new radio purchase from us"

Ok to be fair, I don't know if the local dealer couldn't locate the software, in the Triumph dealer system (as Radio Sound mentioned above) or just because the dealer didn't want to spend more time with this.

As many of you guys I probably got tired of waiting for a solution and kept calling Radio Sound (to they probably got tired of me) and finally got the update myself and was told by Radio Sound that "The firmware update is not a propriety of Triumph but Radio Sound and that updating an existing system is not violating any copyrights or seen as copyright infringement, as long as you do not offer the update as part of a paid service, we will just not share the update. " - probably due to the statement above, that Triumph no longer has got a valid contract with Radio Sound and all of us will suffer from this. In fact I've been very disappointed with Triumph after sales, that might lead to some of us will return or try to the RT in the future..

However the forum rules does not allow us to share the firmware update, but  a friendly soul helped me out with the update and I'll also be glad to help, just not share it here as public download, but you're welcome to drop me a pm.
