    headlight adjustment not workin

    Hi All ,

I am a new member, so firstly, hello everyone !

I recently bought a 2014 trophy, having checked you guys out and discovering all the valuable information, I have now changed the shaft drive oil, greased the bottom linkage and both rear brake and gear linkage, so thank you.
Am loving the bike, what a brilliant thing it is, the only problem appears to be that the headlight height adjustment in the menu is not working, it is showing the lowest setting on the screen but is clearly too high and when I shine it against a wall and run through the operation nothing happens.
Happy to manually adjust and not worry too much about the electronics is that possible ?
or any views on what might be the problem electronically ?
I recently disconnected the battery to wire in my optimate, anything to do with battery disconnection perhaps ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks alot

:400: Its connector may be dirty or has come off.

To get out of the doubts and discard things, it would be good to go through a Triunmph dealer and they will connect the test machine.
The testing machine sends commands to see its status ...
Only motorcyclists know why dogs stick their head out the car window.

Message transferred from identical Post in the "New Members" Section :

First of all - after entering the "Adjustment" Menu and selecting "Headlight",
when you press the Scroll UP button on the Handlebar,
do the "Bars" "in the Instrument Panel display increase in number ?

( This is just to check the problem isn't something simple
like pressing the wrong buttons !  :138: ).

The problem is unlikely to be a faulty Relay or Fuse,
as this would also result in the Headlamp not lighting up.

The signals from the Handlebar Scroll buttons when in the Headlamp Adjustment Menu
go to the Main ECU, and then from Connector A of the ECU to the Headlamp motor.

It may be that there is a poor connection at the ECU Multi Plug
or at the Adjustment Motor, or that the actual Headlamp motor has failed.

If the Headlamp motor has failed it requires removal of the front Cockpit panels to get at it,
mounted in between the individual headlamps.  There is an adjustment that can be made
to initially set the height of the beam correctly, described in the Service Manual.

The Headlamp Motor Part Number is T2701404, with a current Retail Price of around 200 !

As in my previous message, the Headlight motor is located between the Headlamps
and the Instrument Panel fascia, Cockpit front panel &  Headlamp assembly
need to be removed to get at it.

There are separate Topics about dismantling the Cockpit.  This one is quite useful :

HOW TO: Fitting Triumph Sat Nav Mount & Zumo 660.

The Main ECU is also located in the same area.

Of the two multi-pin plug in Connectors, Connector "A" is the smaller of the two
having 36 Pins, while Connector "B" has 48 Pins.

    Cheers  :821:
