XM Antenna Plug & Socket ?
    on: Apr 23, 2020, 05.29 pm
    Apr 23, 2020, 05.29 pm
This is the Female Socket into which the ( US & Canadian market ) XM Radio Antenna plugs into :

This is the Plug that pushes into that Socket :

Does anyone know the specific name or designation of this type of connector ?
( Not just "DIN" or "FAKRA" which have many variants ! ).

    Cheers  :821:

It looks like it might be an SMB connector.

Thanks for trying, but it's NOT an SMB.

I need to identify the specific MALE Plug used - the one fitted on the end of the XM Antenna.

I only have the images already posted.

Looks like some sort of "Z" type Fakra plug & socket but I can't find the specific one.

    Coconut:

When I removed the XM antenna to relocate it to the Triumph mount, I took a look at the end of the connector at the end of the short antenna cable.  And I think I have a definitive answer for you.  With a magnifying glass,  i could read what I thought was HRS and GT5W on the end of the connector.

Bingo !!  It's an HRS connector and that PN was for the "retainer" that is used on both ends of the entire connector - what I have always called the plug & receptacle ends.

Looks like the one end is a GT16GW-1P-ASSY  and the other end is a GT16GW-1S-ASSY.

    Take a look on page 8 : https://www.hirose.com/product/document?clcode=&productname=&series=GT16G&documenttype=Catalog&lang=en&documentid=D144121_en

There is also an insulator part ( 2 each ) that fit in there, somewhere.
