    Hello,
I too had the same problem with my screen sticking in the up position. Mine was caused by water getting into the wiring harness near the handlebars because of a split in the protective sheathing. (caused by bad routing). I note that you have had the tank off. It could be that when you replaced it, the bottom rear of the tank sits on top of the wire harness that crosses over to the relays on the right of the bike. (These control power to the up/down of screen). You may have disturbed these wires.
In my case the water had corroded the joint where 4 blue wires are crimped from 1 other. Mine had rotted and and gave either no connection to the relays or only partial connection. I hope I have attached a picture. You will see the 4 blue wires temporary crimped to blue connector near my red multi meter lead. Making an effective repair cured my problem. If all else fails you might need to check under the tank near your suspension mount, open the harness and look at the connectors. Mine had come apart.
Please don't use the type of crimp I used as a permanent repair.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers
    Wayne

How nice it is to see all those cables out of a harness.

That's where I enjoy myself. The more cables there are. Best...

Wayne 🤔looks like you were correct I stripped back the loom you suggested and found alll those wires broken and corroded, I have repaired with solder and heat shrink and rewrapped the cables and every thing works
Thanks everyone for your help, especially you Wayne, I would never have found that on my own
    Cheers Jim B

I've attached some pics of the process, on the plus side I learned a lot about my bike, maybe stuff I didn't need to know, but it was certainly a learning experience

Good job Jimbonz60. Thanks also to Wayne.

Would it be convenient to cover that area with some type of rubber blanket or similar?

From what I see the screen was about to stop working and I just need to remove the fuel tank so that it does not work.

Well done , I am glad to be of help. It can seem like a daunting task to remove the tank and then strip the wiring harness open to locate a fault. You have done a good job and now your screen works.
Hopefully this will give others the confidence to perform such tasks looking at your photos as a guide.

    Cheers,
    Wayne :152:
