    Power cutout with heavy throttle

Help please. I have a 2016 Triumph Trophy SE. I recently purchased this beauty with 67,700 miles. She had been meticulously maintained with all the records. All the maintenance has been done and she's it overall great shape. She was at the dealer for her 60K mile service a few months ago. She drives great and seems to have no problems under normal conditions. After a long ride a noticed that there had a jerking hesitation under hard acceleration. Itís more than a hesitation. It cuts out. Under normal driving acceleration she never has a problem and runs great.  It varies in intensity from a light jerk to a violent clank in the transmission when it lets go. It seems worse when the bike has been driven for a long time. When I first start riding I cannot reproduce the problem. I drove her for about 50 miles today and got one slight jerking in 2nd gear. I tried to see if it was gear related but it wouldn't do it again. it seems to be from something getting too hot. Coil? Fuel pump? I know the TPM system was recalled on some bikes. My only recall is the handlebar wiring harness. I will be getting that done soon. Any help would be great.

Hi Kernal and :400: to the Club !

Assuming this is NOT related to the Ignition wiring problem,
subject of the Latest Safety recall campaign, then it could be Transmission related.

There have been a few reports from Members reporting similar symptoms
that were determined to be worn Gear Selector components, allowing the Gear
( particularly 2nd ) to momentarily slip out of engagement.

Thanks for the welcome and your suggestion. Itís hard to tell what itís doing since my instinct is to grab the clutch when it happens. It doesnít seem to be popping out of gear but maybe it is. When that happens, does it happen all the time? Mine doesnít do it until itís been running for a while. Doesnít cut off when cold. Does the heat affect the transmission problem? Seems the gear issue would be more consistent. My issue is intermittent.

There doesn't seem to be a problem with the gearbox or the clutch.

I also rule out the problem in the ignition key wires.

Rather it could be a problem in the injection.

It would be helpful to know if I leave a DCT error code logged.

Checks dirt on air filter, throttle position sensor
and already put, the 3 spark plugs and their corresponding coils.

Something similar was also happening with the ECM unit.

I checked the codes this morning. Only reads P000. I assume that means no errors.

So, there is little to go, so it would be good if when you take the bike to the review, the throttle sensor, injection bodies and what was discussed above are checked.

In the case of an intermittent breakdown, it is difficult to know which thread to pull.

In a workshop and with the appropriate tools they will see the state of everything, as well as their tolerance margins and they will have a little more light to be able to find the problem.

    Kernal,

I can't help with your questions about whether the Gear issues occur at certain time etc,
as I have not experienced it myself, just trying to point you in the direction of issues
that other Members have had in those Links.

    Regarding DTC's - "P0000" means there are no DTC's stored ( 4 x zeros not 3 ).

    Cheers  :821:
