    Triumph dealer loan bikes

Mine’s booked in for the ignition switch wiring check Thursday week. It’ll be an inpatient for a few days, so I’ll be getting a loaner. It’s solely a Triumph dealer, so it’ll be a something-or-other from Thailand.

What are they tending to keep as loaners these days? It’s been years since I’ve had a loaner and the last time it was a first generation modern Bonneville. I had to take it, two up, along the last bit of the M5 and climb Haldon Hill. That was pretty frightening stuff! Reminded me of borrowing someone’s CB250N Superdream at college  :010:

What should I have to look forward to this time do you think?

A Rocket III would make a nice loaner for a few days! :821:

Visited my local dealer, a couple of months ago, to pick up some parts and he had all the versions of the Rocket in the showroom, including the limited edition TFC (only 750 made)....what a gorgeous machine and Triumph nailed it! :047:
I would definitely buy,  if in the market for this type of bike!

That’s as nice a thought as it’s an likely one!  :008:

While we can live in hope, it’s still more likely to be a bit of retro nonsense. I’d be quite happy with a Street Triple though  :169:

Local agent offered me Tiger 900 as loan bike - but I've not been able to get an appointment date! I think it all depends on which test bikes they have available at the time of your booking.

I spoke to them this morning and it turns out that they aren’t lending bikes at all currently. What was scheduled as a bike sleepover to check it and then fix as necessary (with a loan bike booked) has turned into a 10 minute check and rebook if it’s needed (with a 50 mile round trip each time).
I asked to book it in for the 10,000 mile service as well, but they wanted very nearly £200 more than the price that they quoted around 3-4 weeks ago.
Looks like it’s time to buy the workshop manual  :028:

It’s been in to have the ignition switch wiring checked and it needs to come back in and have the full work done, so it’ll be Liam bike time...

...and their loan bike is going to be a...

    ..Street Twin 💤 🤣

    I’m thinking:

Be happy if you get any loaner bike.
Here in The States, they are disappearing like the Dodo bird.
Dealer Insurance costs have pretty much made them extinct.
Quite the bummer when your closest Dealer is a 3+ hour ride away.
That is why, in the last five years, I have become more and more self sufficient...
