Does anyone know how to get a copy of this Triumph Tech News Letter?  It details a Field Change for Trophy SE's with transmission shifting problems.  It includes Pins, Shift Forks & Shift Drums.

Courtesy of SW FL, I have now read this Technical Bulletin.

It describes how a new / modified Gear Selector Drum, Input and Output Selector Forks,
and Detent Spring have been introduced on Trophy, Trophy SE and Tiger Explorer engines
from Engine Number ( not VIN Number ) 752515 onwards.

The modified parts can be retro fitted to engines up to Engine Number 752514, but can only
be purchased should only be fitted as a complete kit - Part Number T1195566,
    which costs around GBP 300.

I'm sure this will be very interesting to those who have had Gear selection issues,
and gearchanges to Neutral instead of the next gear, as a result of worn / bent selector forks !

I haven't had any shifting issues, but out of curiosity I went to look at my engine number - 692XXX - prior to the change on my 2015 bike.  In looking up the part number Coconut posted, the first hit came up on bike bandit.  They list the kit at $371 US, but also show individual part numbers and prices for each of the components of the kit.

    2015 TTSE.  It's blue.

A long time ago I put on alert that the part number 3 presented tunings of important chafing, because one of the sets moved more than it should and due to expansion of the aluminum the ball bearing leaked towards the inside of the gearbox.

That my son and I could see.

    dandrumheller,

That's my error - paraphrasing the contents of the TSB  :138: which actually says :

The new selector drum, input selector fork, output selector forks and detent spring
are retrofittable to all earlier engine numbers, but only when fitted as part of a kit.

So the individual parts can be purchased, but ONLY the complete kit
should be retro-fitted.  e.g. You shouldnt just replace an "old" Selector Fork
with the "new" modified type, unless all of the other parts in the kit are also changed.

    Cheers  :821:

Know that shifting gears has been described as "clunky" on this site, which I agree with this term.
My question, without trying to sound facetious, is how clunky is too clunky?

Is #168 the actual # of the service bulletin?

Have about 2000 miles left before 10,000 mile service and want to have all info, in hand, concerning issues with the bike before dropping off.

Who knows how "Clunky" is "too Clunky" ! ?

Triumph Technical Bulletin #168 covers a number of issues, and consists of 39 pages.

Item 168.6 is the "Gear Selector Drum Kit" for the Trophy,
Trophy SE etc. gearbox, and appears on Pages 10 and 11.

    Cheers  :821:
