    Hello from North Carolina

Hi, new member here in North Carolina. I stumbled upon your forum while trying to find info on the 3 cylinder Trophy 1200. My current bikes are a Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 set up for traveling and an Aprilia Shiver with upgraded suspension that I love to ride for day trips in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee.

I recently retired and now have time and a reason to travel. My son is in the army so he and his family will be moving a lot and will probably not live close to me and my wife ever again and my daughter is in medical school and will have to move around a good bit in the near future.

I've done 1000 miles in a day on my Guzzi but the riding position is a bit cramped for my legs and several injuries and the issues that come with getting old have made my Guzzi less than an ideal traveling companion and I've been thinking about replacing it.

I have only owned 90 degree v-twins for the past 9-10 years though I'd like to try a triple. I have been looking at adventure tourer bikes for the generous leg room most provide. A few weeks back, I rode to a Triumph dealer to look at a Triumph Tiger. I did not test ride it but I was interested in it. The salesman looked at my Guzzi and said he'd have to talk to the sale manager who was out that day to get me a trade in offer. He never called or returned my call. I know Guzzi's aren't popular but darn!

Anyway, I kept searching for bikes and started noticing some rather attractive prices on them. A quick search on cycle-ergo.com showed the riding position should work for me. So, I started searching online for reviews and problems and that led me here.

Hi flip, and :400: to the Forum !

The best thing you can do is try and find one that you can take a Test Ride on  :169:

There's LOTS of information in here - just use the SEARCH Button from the Main Menu
and have a Browse around, or if you can't find something specific you are looking for,
head to a relevant Section of the Forum and click the "New Topic" button to ask.  :028:

If you find a Trophy that you are interested in, have a read through this Topic :

What to look for when Buying a Pre-Owned ( Used ) Trophy SE ......

...... just don't let it put you off !
Most of the "issues" mentioned have only affected a relatively small number of Owners.

    Cheers  :821:

:400: to the forum.  A test ride is generally all it takes to get someone on a Trophy, just be sure that it's also comfortable for your passenger.  Do the search thing per coconut if you're in doubt about something. :821:

Welcome flip, you live in an area that would be perfect for the Trophy.  It's also a good long distance bike, lots of amenities,  great gas mileage range and comfort.   Of course the comfort is dependent on the individual and whether or not the bike fits you.  As suggested a test ride would be necessary.
