What’s this unused electrical socket for?!

In the above photo (unhelpfully oriented on its side  :015:), there are three sockets:

    One for the glovebox release
One for the electrical socket in the glovebox and...
One with a blanking plate. What’s that one intended for please?

    RedMerle :

DON'T go Plugging in a GPS there without checking this first ....

If the wires leading to that Connector originate from the same small harness
that carry the Glove Box Power socket and USB wires, then this a Blanking Plug
fitted into a socket that is present on some Models, and is used to activate the
Heated Grips Icons on the Instrument Panel. When Heated Grips are fitted
the Blanking Plug is replaced with another Plug having Link wires in it :

The GPS Power socket is a similar socket located below and behind the left mirror pod,
usually taped to the main harness or tucked behind a velcro strap in that location.
IIRC it is a darker grey colour than the Heated Grips Socket.

    Cheers  :821:

My mistake, mine doesn't have the connection for the blanking plug.  Yes, it was one of "those". :745:

This was very helpful. I’ve had to take the fairing off again (I’m getting really good at that 👍) in the hunt for this elusive connector!

I can’t find the little ble3der anywhere  :008: If anyone can see it, I’d be really grateful if you could put a dirty great ring around it 😁

I’m just about to take the headlight off to have a jolly good rummage around behind that...

Oh dear. I would appear to have an accessory wiring sub harness and a main wiring loom with no GPS accessory socket. I’ve traced along the main cable and there’s nothing  :110:

I wonder if anyone else had had this problem?

I’ve just spoken to a motorcycle technician friend and he laughed! It seems that this is not that unusual!

If I remember correctly - your Trophy is the Standard Model, not the SE?

The Standard Model ( with no audio system ), definitely doesn't have the GPS Audio Connector,
and according to the Servcie Manual wiring diagram, doesn't have the GPS Power connector either.

    Cheers  :821:
