Looking for touring buddies next year
« on: August 27, 2013, 01:41:41 PM »
Hi guys,

I've wanted to take the bike over to the Euro mainland for years but it's never come about.  :157: So I've decided to start planning for next year and make sure that it actually happens. The other half isn't keen at all on the idea, so I'm wondering who else might be up for a small tour?

I'm no stranger to knocking up mass-miles... first 3 months of this year I managed 16k miles. But when it comes to foreign countries and a nice adventure, it's always nice to have fellow support and share the experience (Especially on your first "proper" tour!).  :821:

As I am just looking to start planning, I'm not set on any specific locations yet, I thought it would be wise to see who else might be interested and choose destinations that all would agree on so that we could all enjoy it.  :152:

So, is there anyone out there that would want to join in? Anyone thinking of going over the channel but not wanting to go alone?  :087:

Let's see if we can get the ball rolling... Any takers?

I'll ask Mr TicketyBoo .. we've been talking about touring next year for definite, though must admit the renting a Trophy from the Las Vegas Rental bods and doing a bit of Route 66 etc looks good but perhaps out of our price bracket at the mo, so perhaps a tour with our own bike abroad would be good.  I'm sure there'll be others here thinking/planning for next year too :152:

Am interested depending on dates cos I'm already signed up for a charity run in first two weeks of June.

Any European destination would appeal.

Hi Glenn

Can I be nosy and ask what the charity run is .. Ian and I have also wondered if there is anything we can do charity wise since we did part of the Thankful Villages run last month.

Thanks.

Hi Carol, route 66 has been on my list for a while as well... but very much out of my price range!!

Glen, no worries, if we get a bit more take-up, we can see/start planning and see what dates are good for everyone.

A couple of maybes already... I'm liking this!! :)
