First Ride in the Rain
« on: August 28, 2013, 06:03:19 AM »
I got the opportunity to use the bike in the rain today (Or better I was caught at work when it started).  I will say I stayed pretty much dry.  I had a rain slicker on that I wear at work on my Motor there.  But the bike performed as expected.  I did get some splashing up onto my foot as I went under the gear selector but I guess if I wanted to stay completely dry I would have driven in.  All in all after a good wipe down when I got her home she did well.  Would have had a wet ass on my Sprint.  That is my only comparison.  Other that one of those H bikes.  LOL

I have an appointment Friday for the 500 mile service so we shall see how that goes.

Loving every mile.     :046:

It may not be legal but I have a Dr's note!

:152: agreed. I used to ride retro naked bikes such as the Suzuki GSX 1400 which had no protection whatsoever. Great bike though. As I approach my 60th birthday, I love the protection from this machine.

And with a good set of tyres such as the PR3s, you will be safe and dry.

I'd have to say my first ride in the rain was the day I picked it up.  Also the first ride in the snow.  Also the first ride in the sleet.  Also the  first ride in the hail.

I think I've ridden my Trophy in more rain / thunderstorms than I ever did with my Tiger 800.  The Trophy rides very well in the rain.

Yeah, the cross country run on German B roads from Frankfurt to Nuremberg I did last week was my first real run in the rain on this bike. no troubles at all!

Excellent protection from the rain even when moving at slowish speeds. Handling hardly seemed impacted at all even with full luggage!
Triumph Trophy! Not for every Tomaz, Dieter or Herman!🇬🇧

Nah, I picked it up at my brother's dealership in Upstate New York, broke it in, did the 500 service and rode it home to Houston.  Rained about 50% of the trip.
