    Comfort seat or custom seat?

Ok. . .  Time for a poll!  I'm not happy with my low ride seat (came with the bike) and want to make a change.  I just bought the bike so $$ is a little tight.  I don't do a lot of touring but have a 70+ mile ride to work and back and ride solo almost exclusively.  I'm 5'10" 207lbs and have no problem standing flat footed at a stop with the seat in the "high" position.

What would you do - Triumph comfort seat or custom and why?

Unless you find an individual selling a comfort seat you may not have any luck finding one.  They are no longer available from any of the suppliers that sell parts and accessories on line.

Be very wary of Bike Bandit when it comes to Triumph OEM parts.

Your best bet is to go with a Corbin or a Russell Day-Long saddle.  My Russell is the best investment in the bike I have made.

The Russell's looks amazing!  I don't think I would want to get off the bike.  I just can't justify dropping $700 on a seat.  Got one daughter in Pharmacy school and the other is thinking about medical school.  By the time they're out of school and making bank I'll be too old to ride.

    StreeetCred,

The Part Number listed in your Link IS a genuine Triumph Trophy "Comfort" Seat,
however you will be very lucky to find a new one at any Dealer.

Bike Bandit ( and others ) have been known to advertise items for sale
when they don't actually have the item in stock, and will even go as far
as taking payment, hoping they can get them from Triumph UK.

Once they hear back from Triumph UK they will then advise
the Customer that the item is now out of stock.

    Cheers  :821:

Thanks for the heads up about some shady and down right sh|ty business practices.  How do they stay in business?

So, it's looking more and more like I only have one choice and that's to go custom.

Bike Bandit lists parts that are not in stock as 1-2 weeks delivery because they ASSUME they are still available from the manufacturers and they don't know for sure until they try to order the item, then the order ends up getting cancelled.  Hermys, which I consider a little more on top of their game shows that seat as "no longer available".  I consider that information from Hermys to indicate that someone has actually checked to see if a product is still in production.
