I've been meaning to replace that little bulb with an LED one myself, looks like a great upgrade.

I really don't know about replacing the headlight bulbs with them though, you just may end up with MOT problems for one,....the reflector at the back of these headlamps just wasn't designed to project the light from an LED.

You’re quite right, of course. Because the LED “bulb” projects little light directly upwards, there’s a shortfall in light landing directly in front of the bike.

But, this is the first bike that I’ve bought used since 1995 (and the first out of warranty, since 1986), so I’m enjoying the freedom to mess around and experiment with stuff like this - just to see what can be achieved 😁 it’s like being let off the leash 😆

And, if it doesn’t work, I can always put the incandescents back in 👍

I decided to purchase both the white and amber versions of the LED Marker Light, and decided that I liked the amber version better, given its role as a marker.

I guess I’m just sold on the color variations being more visible, though the only proof I have is that nobody has turned in front of me since I have added amber running lights to my motorcycles...

I had an amber LED between the headlights and liked the look as it gave 'separation' to the headlights.  And some color.
When the deer hit me a couple years ago the shop replaced the assembly and didn't swap the bulb over so it's a factory white at the moment.

You make a good point there,....maybe I'll stick with the normal bulb after all, it would be interesting to know if there's been any studies on the aspect of two headlights, no matter how far apart being more noticeable than one on a bike.

For me it was just the 'look'. I don't think there is any safety benefit, other than a different color is at least one more contrast that another driver might notice.
