brakes and disc

hi guys
im not a mechanic but have a mate that will do the work can someone help me with a few questions he has asked me please
he has asked
what make are the brakes ( all it says on the callipers is triumph
for myself
where is the best place to get new disc and pads from as I've just had mot and they have had an advisory on this
also what would you recommend for tyres

I got EDC disc and pads from the above site, they don't make a disk for the rear, Brembo do one though.

Bridgestone's is what I've stuck with so far.

Worth having a look at PFM discs as well. Used a set a few years ago for over 60,000 miles spread over a ZZR1400 and GTR1400(same discs) and could not feel/see any perceptible wear before selling them. The performance was also far better than the standard kawasaki discs and pads.

At the time the cost for the discs was similar to the more well known players such as Brembo, EBC, Galfer etc. but unlike the well known players they didn't care whos pads you used for warranty purposes. From memory they were selling SBS sinter pads at the time and very good they were to at half the price of the ebc/brembo/galfer etc pads.

Yeah, if you are crazy hey.

Seriously, I haven't looked back since ditching the OEM ones, apart from saving hundreds of pounds, the EBC's bobbins don't need any cleaning/attention.

From the PFM website, under the repair parts header, you can buy just the outer braking surface,  retainer, and center section, all separately for a lot less than buying a whole disc and center section if you wear out a component.

Im pretty sure the stock calipers and possibly disks are made by Nissin , Japan, as for replacement disks i'd be looking in the direction of EBC personally, as i've stated before it's my belief the stock disk bobbins are too tight on the carrier, some might disagree , but as i own the old model of trophy a 99 spec 1200 as well as a TTSE i can honestly say in the 10 years I've owned it i've never cleaned the disk bobbins ever.

The calipers are Nissin ones for sure,....I stumbled across this picture in an old Demon Tweeks catalogue showing these brake pad pins, they look familar I thought, not sure on the length so can't be 100% certain that they fit the Trophy, it's all immaterial now though, can't find them listed on their site.
