Modifications notifications - Insurance

My new policy documents for the Trophy came through and they included an information sheet of bike modifications they do NOT need to be notified of. Interestingly, this answers a few questions raised in the past on the matter of crash bars, etc. I must stress this is only for Carole Nash cover, but as one of the biggest UK insurers, it may apply to you.

Interesting.
My insurance policy has a value limit of $1,500 for undeclared accessories. They require a detailed accounting if that value is exceeded. Perhaps you should check your policy if there is now such a clause in effect for you.

I wonder about that too.
Surely they don't think that a bike thief is going to think that your bike is actually a race bike/worth more so are more likely to nick it in the first place? Considering it would have a number plate/be used on the public roads.

That may be exactly what they are thinking.
