Garmin Zumo XT - how to pair ?

Hi guys, all new to me so please be patient  and forgive me my bad English ...

Bought myself a new Zumo XT but struggle to find out the best way to connect to bluetooth.
I'm not using a phone, just the Garmin and the FM audio from the TTSE. I have a Cardo Freecomm headset.
As far as i can see there are 2 ways to connect:
Garmin XT to channel 1, TTSE audio to channel 2 on the Cardo
Or
Pair the Garmin to the TTSE bluetooth unit and then to Channel 1 on the Cardo.

Correct. Or is there another / better way ? Again, no phone-connection needed.

I am not familiar with the Freecom Headset,
but assuming it is capable of having 2 devices paired to it,
I would pair the Garmin Zumo XT to your Headset,
using “GPS Pairing” mode if your Headset has that feature,
and also pair your Headset to the Trophy “HEADSET 1”
Channel, using the Headset “Mobile Phone Pairing” mode -
if it has that feature, even though you are not going to
use a Mobile Phone in your setup.

The Headset “should” prioritise the GPS Audio so that any
Voice navigation instructions will interrupt any other audio
being listened to, such as the Trophy FM radio, then revert
to the other Source once the Announcement has ended.
