Information on Red Trophies

Having recently bought a Red Trophy SE, I have been trying to find out a bit more about the colour and how many were made in this colour. I have seen a few pictures of red ones on this forum, so there must be a few more out there!

So far I have been impressed with the bike, however whilst in lockdown I have ridden it a total of 17 miles, but am starting to do some odd jobs to it ready for when we are 'released'!

The previous owner told me the colour was Cherry Red, but I can only find reference to a Cranberry Red. Does anybody what the actual colour is called.

Was this a special edition colour, or a trial perhaps?

Any information that people have about this colour would be greatly appreciated.

There were NONE produced in red.

The Only colours available at release were Lunar Silver and Pacific Blue,
with Phantom Black appearing a couple of years later.

Those are the only 3 production colours.

Any other colours are most likley to have been overpainted.

I believe there were one or two specials prepared by "8 Ball Custom Paintwork".

None. Your bike will not be original paintwork.

As we all know a red one is always faster [Ferrari's]. Doesn't it look gorgeous just standing still. Pity the factory didn't have a broader range of colours for the Trophy. Always loved my British Racing Green 4 cylinder 1200 cc. version.

It does look good.
I now have a Blue Trophy now I think it’s the most produced color.
I never liked being part of the normal group , I still like my old silver one!

The first trophy I looked at was in Graphite it was stunning I almost bought it there and then, but booked a test ride went back to be told there was a problem, one of the techs had lost it when putting it on work bench thus needing various parts of the faring etc replacement. Rapidly changed mind about that one......
