Best windshield to eliminate blowback?

The cutout in the CalSci Windscreen is designed to minimize what you call blowback by equalizing the pressure on both sides of the screen. I highly recommend that you call Mark Lawrence at California Scientific. He is a degreed Physical Engineer that can answer your questions better than any of us here.

A "physical" engineer???  I've been known to "physically" engineer stuff too, but mine never turn out as well as his.   Yes he really does have a Physics degree.

So, "blowback"... I'm 6'2" and usually had my stock screen up about 2-3" (measured at the stops at the base of the arms that control tilt/elevation behind the screen). At that height there was more buffeting than blowback, but riding with it down lower resulted in that low-pressure up front/high-pressure behind feeling.

With the CalSci large, I usually have the screen up only 1/2" to 1", and at that height and angle the airflow is very smooth - no feeling of pressure differential at all, while still having weather protection at least as good as anything the stock screen could offer.

Hope that clarifies what I feel before and after the change.

My first Trophy ride on the interstate, at highway speed, with the regular windshield, resulted in buffeting and/or back pressure, depending on the height of the windshield.  Passing semi's seemed to make it worse.

Due to a previous good experience with a Laminar Lip, I procured one for my Trophy.  With the Lip installed on the regular windshield, it eliminated those problems - I typically ride with the windscreen up two or three inches at most or with the windscreen all the way down.  Those couple of inches make a difference in wind noise.  Buffeting and back pressure are gone.  I'm 5'9" for perspective...  The Lips are designed for specific motorcycles.

I too feel the pressure behind my helmet pulling me forward when I raise the screen.  I am following this thread with interest.  It seems that the CalSci and V-Stream windscreens are the main options.  Need to pull the trigger on one but am unsure which one at this point.
