Heated pillion seat - diy using Triumph parts

Don't know if anyone is interested but I have managed to convert a Triumph "Comfort" pillion seat to a heated "Comfort" pillion seat, using all Triumph parts with the requisite heated seat icon appearing in the dashboard.  It looks "stock" and works well.  I'm not an expert at posting to forums (not an expert at anything, actually!) but i took a number of photos during the process ( I promised Coconut I would!) which I am happy to share if it helps anyone contemplating such a project.

I'm not a fan of heated seats at all...in fact I think they are as much use as a chocolate fire guard.  However, the missus disagrees.  I have both heated seats but recently bought a comfort pillion seat for her, so I'd be interested in knowing how to do this...

I don't think the Comfort seats can be heated because they are gel.  At least Triumph never offered a heated Comfort seat as far as I know from looking at available accessories.

Firstly, people keep saying the "comfort" seats are gel. Where does this come from?  Triumph state they are 3D net, do they not?  I'd actually be grateful for anyone who can show me the reference to comfort seats containing gel.

Secondly, why can gel seats not be heated? Mine is.  Saddlecraft, who did the modification, told me the gel is good for 150°c and they have completed many heated gel seats modifications without problem.

Urban tales versus fact? I don't know, but nothing I've seen so far indicates comfort seats contain gel.

Alan, i'll label the images and get them across with some words this week-end.
"Trophied" and "Novocastrian" - I can confirm the "comfort seat" doesn't contain gel and the 3D foam is - well, foam with a mesh backing! Nothing fancy at all and not much of it either!!
On my previous Trophy 900,  the comfort saddle I had did have gel in it but no heater.  In fact the gel made my ass a bit hot and sweaty, especially biking in europe in summer......seems an awfully long time ago now.......
