« on: September 07, 2013, 10:32:24 am »
Hey guys!!! I need any hint to extract the oil filter. I do have three different wrenches for this purpuse but I can not fit any of them to the mounted filter. Any hint, please?  :430:8 :821:

Well in the past, when removing an old filter to be replaced I have just pushed a screwdriver through it and used that as a lever to twist the filter off. But as I have not actually looked at the Trophy filter to know where it is and what it looks like I don't know if this will work in this case!

Wouldn't you know - there is a Triumph "Service Tool" to remove the Oil Filter !

You can see a picture of it, and even buy one ( £12.66 + postage ) from here ( where I have no affilliation whatsoever ! ) - Item Number 4 :

That looks like and end mounted filter remover. If so, there must be plenty of space for an adjustable band filter remover I use on everything, unless the filter is recessed in.

It uses the same size filter wrench as other Triumph oil filters.

Ok. Thank you very much for your answers. I will try to find it in Madrid this afternoon a wrench like the one appearing in the Triumph web page....

Otherwise I will probably use a "violent" screwdriver as a lever.

Thanks again to all of you. :152:

Probably more helpful for US and Canada owners, the oil filter wrench for a 2005 Toyota RAV 4 and/ or 2008 Nissan frontier works also.
