slight vibe on the front end
« on: September 08, 2013, 01:09:55 PM »
hi all

picked up my new trophy yesterday well chuffed with it ?

I thing I did notice when I took my hand off the bar to adjust the screen

noticed a slight vibe in the bars moving from side to side

like you get when the wheels not balance correctly mini tank slapper

this only happens between 40 and 50 mph just hope the problem is as above

the dealer is going to look at it on the first service

just wondered if anyone else have had this with there trophy  :112:

Arran,

Have you had the first service yet - if so what they did find ?

Mine has started to do the same, between 40 & 50 MPH - feels like one of the balancing weights has come off,
but can't see any obviously missing - being  looked at next week.

hi all

well I've had my first 500 mile service done
also had the front end wobble sorted

coconut .......I also checked the weights on the front
wheel nothing missing and tyre ok etc.

after all it was wheel balancing on the front end
the dealer put a bigger weight on the front wheel
and I noticed he also pumped the tyres up slightly
which I saw on the tyre pressure system
40psi in the front 47psi in the back
they were 2 psi down on this when collected from new

any how all sorted now thank god ??
but I find it strange
that they didn't balance the wheels correctly at the triumph factory but hey I guess with wheels the human factor came in to play
and a mistake was made

no problem though and I love the bike  :020: :008:

When racing it is not unusual for a Tyre to rotate on the rim but I would have thought not on a road bike?

Took the bike into the shop today, they checked the front wheel balance and it was slightly out -
no weights apparantly missing, but needed an extra 5 grammes to put it right.

Headstock and wheel bearings also checked - everything in good order  :002:

No more handlebar wobble around 40 - 50 MPH - lovely  :169:

Shops. should have searched before I asked this very question.  Thanks for the replies.
It may not be legal but I have a Dr's note!
