Cylinder head issues and exemplary service

My 2013 TTSE (registered 2014), which I've had from new, has 86k miles and was running really rough, poor starting, poor fuel consumption, poor tickover etc. It's always been dealer serviced. Took it for the 80k major and was informed that the way it's running it's probably the valves and not worth spending the money on a service. So, I emailed triumph to complain that a top end tourer should really be capable of 100k if not thrashed and fully serviced.
By the end of the same day, the response was that my bike had missed out on the head upgrade and they'd do it FOC, just let them know my choice of dealer. So, the next day this is arranged, plus, because of the mileage, I'll get a new head and valves plus new cams.
I can't imagine any other maker providing this service on a 7 year old 86k bike, even if it did miss out on the upgrade back in the mists of time.
This really is exceptional service - top marks for triumph.

:028: to Triumph once again.  Some may not agree but it seems more often than not if it is a known issue they have been very good about assisting in the remedy.

I am glad to know that they have been an exemplary way with your problem.

I can't say the same in my case and it was only once that I contacted Triumph UK technical service and they didn't fix it. I had to draw on my experience with electronics to solve a problem I had with the sound system.

I wonder if their decision to replace the head was swayed by the fact the bike is still "dealer serviced"?
    Still an excellent result though

:046:got my bike back. New head, valves, cams, tensioner etc. And to cap it all team Roberts arranged a professional valet on it before I picked it up. Looks nearly new and runs as well as ever. :151:only issue now is Iím frightened to ride it in the rain in case it gets dirty!

     :046: That's good news ...

One day or another she will get wet and get dirty. So now he has to take the motorcycle out of it and enjoy it.  :008:  :730:
