    Hi

I am thinking of buying a Packtalk Bold for my Trophy. Just wondering if anybody has any experiences they would care to share, any problems or issues with blue tooth connection or anything else. I am hoping to use it with my Garmin 660.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I have no personal experience with Scala's, but  :400: to the forum.  I'm sure someone will step up with some information for you.  You should stop in at the New Members thread and introduce yourself to all! :821:

    Hi

Not a Pactalk Bold but a Pactalk Slim which is basically the same but fits in the Helmet. I have it connected to the phone on one Bluetooth channel and the Trophy on the second. I also have a Garmin 660 and find I have no trouble at all with directions from the SatNav(via the Trophy bluetooth) and connections to the phone

I can honestly say that its been a fantastic device and that my mate and I don't actually think about connecting to each other and the bike, it all works so well. (I'm sure someone will have trouble but I have tried quite a few bluetooth communicators and this has been the best)

Please feel free to ask any questions that you have and I will try my best to answer them

    Steve

I like my PacTalk Bold and use it with moulded in-ear speakers.

But I use it directly to my iPhone as the Trophy's Bluetooth I find too complicated.

I have the Cardo Packtalk Slim.  I like the Packtalk but I have had problems with the Trophy SE bluetooth.  The Trophy bluetooth headset connection on my 2015 is inconsistent.  The audio cuts in and out and is unusable.  I'm quite sure it is a problem with the bike, not the Packtalk.  I had the same problem with Uclear headsets and a couple generic sets of earbuds paired to the Trophy.   You may not have this problem.
There are different ways to use the Zumo 660.  You can bluetooth your Packtalk directly to the Zumo and ignore the Trophy bluetooth.  You can hardwire the Zumo to the Trophy audio system and use the Trophy bluetooth.  As another option, Packtalk has 2 bluetooth connections so you can bluetooth both the Trophy and Zumo to the Packtalk at the same time.  Your choice depend on whether you want to use the FM, Weather, Sirius XM or Ipod options from the Trophy.  There are also phone options to work in.
I ride with a friend with a Packtalk bold and our communication over DMC intercom is excellent.   I use S-Plug earbuds with my Packtalk.  The Packtalk speakers are good but I prefer the earbuds.

Also have the Packtalk Bold.  I don't use the Trophy bluetooth anymore, really just too problematic.  I use the helmet speakers with earplugs and love it.

I had used Cardo products for years.  I really liked the fact that I could adjust the volume using the motorcycle's volume controls. When the time came to upgrade, I purchased the Packtalk Bold.  I could never get it to work with the Trophy's Bluetooth.  It would connect, but then would cut out CONSTANTLY.  By that, I mean every second.  I found it unusable.

Switched over to the Sena 20S.  Connection is reliable and clear.  YMMV.
