where to look: TTSE, Zumo XT or BT headset ?

    This one drives me crazy:
i have a new Zumo XT. Paired to channel 1 on my Cardo Freecom, for navigation instructions and stored MP3's.
And i have the Trophy Audio, paired to channel 2 to listen to my FM radio and my MP3 on the USB flashdrive.
I hear my GPS and i can hear my radio, so both BT channels are working. But, when i try to use the XT Media player i do not hear the music. It's playing, it's just no sound. If i "unpair" my Trophy BT / Audio i do hear my XT Mediaplayer ....
So ... both BT channels are working but cannot both handle audio ?

I'm not familiar with your Make & Model of Headset, but I think this is something to do with "Priorities"
where the Trophy Audio system - when playing, is taking priority over the Garmin Media Player.

Do the Voice Navigation instructions over-ride the Trophy Radio ?

Check the documentation for your Headset and see which Channel is the Priority, or "GPS" Channel.

Edited to aadd : I just checked the Cardo Freecom 2 Owners Manual On Line which advises, on Page 7 :

If you are  pairing more than one  device, Cardo recommends that you pair the  mobile phone to
channel 1, and  the additional device (such as GPS, music player or additional mobile phone) to channel2.

Try deleting ther Pairings and setting it ip again the other way around with the Garmin paired
to your Headset Channel 2, and the Trophy to Channel 1 -  that may be the answer.  :169:

If that doesn't work, when you want to listen to the Garmin Media Player,
try turning the Trophy Audio System OFF by using the Volume Down Button,
past Minimum, and past "MUTE" to "OFF".

After a second or so the Garmin Media Player should start playing,
or you should be able to start it playing.

If none of these work, I would send an email enquiry to Garmin -
Contact details from their Web Site for the product concerned.
They usually take a day or so to reply, but are generally very helpful.  :028:

    Cheers  :821:

Definitely try swapping the way you have your Helmet Headset connected,
so Channel 1 is paired with the Trophy (“HEADSET 1”) and Channel 2
of your Headset is connected to the Garmin.

Funny thing: when i replace the TTSE Audio (and BT) with my phone it works perfectly  :156:

I don't understand what is going wrong here.  :027:

I have just checked with my Garmin Zumo XT connected to my Sena SRL Helmet system.
( I always start the Trophy engine, then turn the Trophy Radio ON, and then the Garmin ON -
and THEN turn my Helmet system ON, to avoid Pairing problems after turning the Ignition ON
and finding the Trophy Audio system disconnects while the Starter motor is cranking ! ).

With the Trophy FM Radio playing in my helmet, I set a destination on the Garmin,
and I heard the first Voice NAV instruction which interupted the Trophy FM radio in my helmet system.
After the NAV announcement the Trophy FM Radio resumed in my helmet system.

I then opened the Music Player App on the Garmin, and pressed "Play" - the Music
could immediately be heard in my Helmet system, interupting the Trophy FM Radio.

I then pressed "Pause" on the Garmin Media Player App, the music from the Garmin stopped.
Within 1 second the Trophy FM Radio resumed in my helmet system.

I took some screenshots of the Settings on my Zumo XT for you to compare.
( Obviously your Helmet System will be named differently, but the options should be the same ! ).

First, from the Home Screen, Tap the Settings button, bottom right :

The "All Settings" Screen will now be seen :

Tap the button for "Wireless Networks : Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Settings" :

The Bluetooth Screen will now be seen, listing your Helmet system,
with Icons displayed - showing what options are enabled.
For my System you can see that "Headset" and "Music" Icons are displayed in blue.

Now tap on the entry for your Helmet system to open the Bluetooth Device Options Screen :

If the "Media Audio" option is not ticked and shown as connected,
Tap the little box to the right of "Media Audio" to enable it,
and check that the message changes to show "Connected".

I would definitely suggest you leave the Helmet pairings
as instructed by the Cardo Freecom Manual.
( Trophy HEADSET 1 paired to Cardo Freecom Channel 1,
and the Garmin XT paired to the Freecom Channel 2 ).

If the Voice NAV Insructions from the Garmin interupt the Trophy Radio,
then the Garmin XT Media Player audio should do the same,
so if the settings are all as above and it still isn't doing this,
I would revert to my previous advice and enquire with Garmin Technical Support.

    Cheers  :821:

Thank you for the extended reply   :062:

I have all my settings as described by you, i can hear my navigation and my radio. But when switching to the MediaPlayer i can see it's playing the track / mp3 but i still hear the Trophy radio and can not hear my mp3  :159:

I don't think it's a Triumph thing, more likely something with my Cardo Freecom. I will try to find another headset to test. Keep you posted !

    Coconut,

Thanks to your simplified instructions on setting up a Zumo XT and SLR Neotec headset, I too have a fully operational system, now to sort out the DAB antenna, so Planet Rock is loud and clear.     :028:
