    Windshield occasionally not moving

    Hi guys!
This is what happens 80-90% of the time: When I switch on the egnition (before starting the engine) after all chechs are done the windshield attempts to go up in previous position, jerks and stops. Same happens if I use the UP button. Same - when the engine is running but the bike is not moving
Still, sometimes it operates perfectly (like when I come to the service guys for advice).

When the bike starts moving, even slowly in 1st gear - the windshield starts to operate just fine
If I switch the egnition on, press the UP button and gently push the windshield top away from me - it moves just fine too. I remove the pressure - it jerks and does not go neither up nor down.

I suppose I should try to give it some lube. I have spreyed silicone on whatefer mofing joints I see - it didn't help. I dont' know how to reach the parts that are hidden behind the plastic or the headlight. Do I need to take it all apart?

There is a built in "Anti-Trap feature" designed to inhibit the screen
from moving if any obstruction is detected.

Try removing the Screen and seeing whether it does the same when you turn the Ignition on ?

There is a possibility that the screen has been mounted in such a way,
due to the mounting holes being slightly enlarged, as to put some strain on the operating arms,
and coupled with the lower voltage when the engine is not running,
could be preventing the correct operation.

If the screen arms move correctly without the screen fitted, replace it and pay attention
to lining up the holes with the bolts as much as possible to the screen arms
are not moved away from their resting position.

I would also have your Battery professionally tested to make sure it is good,
and is providing the correct voltage and current output without the engine running.

    Cheers  :821:

Try going up and down making impulses and you will tell me the result.

That is, instead of always holding down the up / down button. Give it intermittent pulses, if this works, the problem is another that I will indicate later.

Perfect, I'll be waiting for your results.

I've had this happen on my 2014 TTSE when the battery is not fully charged.  Once up and running, I have no problem.   It's also occurred when the temperature is 0⁰ C or less.  Sub-zero temperatures will cause the electronics on this bike to do some squirrelly things.

I have had a similar problem when I wash the Trophy and apparently gets something wet. If I ride a little and stop and try it again it usually works alright. Has only happened a few times.
