    Greetings from newbie in Tennessee..
Anyone have information about a software patch Triumph issued a while ago to 'fix' a throttle some customers complained was too sensitive?

I don't know amything about a Software "patch".

I do know that I found the Throttle to be quite responsive
which was exacerbated by the smallish diameter of the handlebar grip.

I found that by adding a set of "Grip Puppies" ( other Brands are available  :008: )
the increased diameter of the Grip made the Throttle easier to control
as well as being more comfortable for my ageing bones !

    Cheers  :821:

The solution is something called ďdamping greaseĒ. Itís the stuff that manufacturers of expensive camera lenses and binoculars use to give them a nicely damped and smooth movement.
Itís expensive, but it completely fixes the problem. Iíve used it on my Tiger for the last 8 years and the Trophy for the last year. If youíre interested, reply and Iíll provide a link  :028:

    This is the stuff:

They used to make it in a smaller tube, they may still do. You need a very little smeared between the twist grip and the handlebar.

I'll check on the dampening grease. Thanks...

As to the software patch. A retired Triumph tech, who was previous owner of my 2014, referred to it as a throttle software flash. He remembers it was issued in late 2013 and opted not to do the install.

For what itís worth, I find the throttle response to be about ideal on my Trophy.
Maybe thatís because my previous touring bike was a BMW K1600GTL, whoís throttle would best be compared to a light switch: On or Off.

I am also not aware of any software update that was made available to change the throttle response. Perhaps you just need to adjust to the greater horsepower and torque of the Trophy vs. your previous bike?  :084:
