    Broken Front Guard.

Back on Friday 16 th. April and 3 hours into a FarRide to Queensland I had the front guard break from the right side attachments. Short story was the guard ended up twisted round the left fork leg. Luckily I was able to stop without incident [apart from an increased heart rate] in the breakdown lane.
I cut the guard away from the left fork and removed the LED light and bracket with a few twists of the last remaining bolt. The right bracket/light was back down the highway in the dark. I didn't bother trying to look for it at 3 am.
I aborted the ride and returned home. Saturday morning I contacted my dealer and ordered a new black front guard. I was informed that it would be about 1-3 months for delivery. I suppose it's on a "rowboat" from China to England before it "swims" to Australia.
Nothing to do but wait it out. So far I've missed another FarRide to Canberra on the 15 th. May and I'll probably miss another in June.
No secondhand available and nothing that I could fabricate to replace.
What's that saying, "PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE". Yeh that's it. It's just that I've never been that virtuos previously.  :164: :164:

What exactly is the piece you have ordered? Translators do not describe your name well

STJIM. Different words for different countries. That's correct, a front fender, front guard or a front mudguard. All one in the same. Cheers.  :821: :028:

Yes, now I have understood which piece you are referring to.

    Hackle :

I was stationed with a sailor in the U.S. Navy who had been stationed at a U.S. Navy communications station in Australia.  I remember he told me if I was ever in Australia to never as a waitress for a "napkin".

If itís any consolation HACKLE, I was told the same thing when I had to order a right hand mirror to replace the one that cracked sometime over the Winter in my garage. I can only assume that the extreme cold must have caused a stress fracture. Either way, itís been a month and counting, with no end currently in sight. Luckily for me though, my Trophy is still rideable until the replacement shows up...
