Left the Fold - at least for now...

Well, I have traded off one of The Two Best Bikes I Ever Had.

After 101,000+ glorious miles, I traded my '13 Trophy ( and my '17 ATwin ) for a '21 Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES.

Lots of reasons, one being that I'm getting older , 72 now, and my back is giving me problems, and my Big Girl, well she was starting to feel a bit 'heavy'.  I was also feeling a bit of concern about the high miles and something mega $$$$ breaking...  I rode her the 90 miles down to the dealership, and along the way many times thought I must be nuts...

So.. maybe another one down the road, maybe The Big T will come out with a replacement ( though I won't hold my breath ).

I so do appreciate all the great help and information and stories and fun I've had on the forum, and hope you don't mind if I continue to lurk around listen in, and maybe even attend a Twisty Trophy event next spring  :020:

Be safe, ride long and often, and ROCK ON!!!!

Congratulations on the new bike - it looks nice!  Things change, things come, things go, nothing stays the same.  Enjoy the new bike!

What happens when the mileometer hits “100,000”? Does it register the extra digit, or does it go back to “0”?

Wishing you well with the new bike 👍

janfmiller, moving on can be hard. But always remember, it's just a bike, it could be just a car. So no big deal. Hope your new toy gives you as much pleasure as the Trophy did. Cheers.  :028: :028:

It sucks that you're leaving but your reasons certainly make sense. Best of luck with that new Africa Twin even though you'll likely not need it haha. I've heard nothing but good things about those bikes and I'm starting to see more out in the wild more frequently. Stay safe out there and don't be a stranger!
