Howdy all,I'm wanting to install a smaller tank bag as the factory one is miles too big...just wondering as Givi don't do a locking ring for the trophy would the factory ring fit onto a givi bag.

trumpy. I'm not sure what "factory ring" you're referring to. The Trophy tank bag doesn't use a tank ring at all. I have no idea what Givi bag would fit. I guess I'm not much help. Cheers.  :028:

Yes you can. I carry a small bag with a ring. I do not remember the reference of the ring, I only remember that it is from Givi for Tiger Explorer. I will look for the reference.

The ring is this with the TANKLOCK BF02 system:

    Here a link:
    https://www.givi.es/para-tu-moto/product/triumph/tiger-explorer-1200-12--15/optionals/bf02

To adapt the ring to the Trophy you must replace the 4 screws and put some longer than the OEM and stainless steel ones and place 4 stops so that the ring rises a little higher, otherwise you will not be able to put the bag. Once you have all 4 height stops, you will have no trouble removing and replacing the bag. I've been using it like this for years.

Thanks for the definitive answer Digital! Have you had any issues with interference with the tank bag with the handle bars at full stops?  What tank bag have you been using?

Yes, with this bag since it touches the handlebar a little and when I stop as it is very big and when I stop the bike at a standstill, it touches the handlebar a little. So I stopped putting it on the handlebars and use it to carry work tools. But I keep in a saddlebag.

The one that looks perfect is this other bag that I carry, I wear it when I go on a trip and I have more than enough space to carry a lot of things. Above all, the best thing is to pay the tolls of the highways, etc, etc.

I have placed the bag so that you can see how it looks, it does not affect the driving at all.
