The END of the Petrol Engine powered motorcycle is approaching !

... at least in the UK it is, and I imaging the Rest of the World will follow suit in due course ....

The publication of the ( UK ) government's "Transportation Decarbonisation Plan" lays out
plans for the sale of all new, "non zero emission" powered motorcycles, scooters, three-wheelers
and other L-Category vehicles such as microcars, to be prohibited from the year 2035.

I've already decided, at the age of 62, that my Trophy will be the last motorcycle I buy,
and although, as far as I'm aware, this is the Government's current "plan" -
so may be subject to change, it's only 14 years away !  :159:

    Cheers  :821:

At only a year younger than you Coconut, i might get another one or two bikes bought before 2035, but all electric is a concern. I am off to London on tuesday on my Trophy and at the moment I can get all the way there (280 miles), without stopping if I so wish. I believe we will need significant advances in battery and electric vehicle design to achieve acceptable ranges and recharge times. Likewise for longer trips, where 2 charges a day may be required.
Perhaps "they" just want us to travel everywhere by public transport such as trains or electric buses, but I like doing my own thing. Or maybe just stay at home?
Ahh well, that's the modern world for you.

I still believe that the main problem with all electric is the infrastructure, I cant see the UK implementing this in the short period given let alone the additional power surge required at peak times.

Wonder how people in the US are going to like the A/C in the summer or the heat in the winter going off because so many are charging their cars every night.  We have rolling power outages all over the country now without any extra demands of more battery chargers on line.  A lot of people don't understand that there is no financial incentive to spend megabucks and years of construction to build new power plants to furnish more power when the majority of the hours of the day that extra power isn't required.  I'm sure the next comment will be "but there are government subsidies", aaaannnddd, those monies come from whom?

If you do some research into the likes of klaus Schwab and others who are pushing for this 'Great Reset' and having us all living under a 'digital passport' all the time, we won't be allowed to travel much period. :151:

Yep, good point, just looking around at my local car parks for example, only a couple of spaces have charging points.

Our State Governor has jumped on the no fossil fuel train without fully considering what to do when the grid goes down and all the well pumps, sump pumps and heat pumps take a few days off. :112:

I remember when my Buggy Whip company went down the pan due to automobiles..............

I think the change from horsepower to petrol power happened over about a 10 year period as the image shows.

I'm sure Electric is not going to be our only option but I do know there are three permanent things in life:

    1.  We will each die
    2.  We will each be taxed on the way to death
    3.  The third permanent thing is things are going to change.

Enjoy your day, I'm going for a ride, whilst I still can.
    Love, light, and kindness,

    Dave
