    Looking at a Trophy

    Hello,

I'm seriously looking at a 2013 Trophy, and I'm new to Triumph motorcycles.
I currently have an older BMW and looking to upgrade.
I would appreciate advise/comments on some of the general items to look for?

    Thank You,
    Goodoni

First on my list would be mileage and if it's had the major service done as it relates to the mileage.  The one at 20K mile intervals can be very expensive if done by a dealer, and if you do it yourself there are some tool and diagnostic equipment considerations.  After that there is a thread with a long list of things (but don't be put off by that) to look for on a used Trophy here:

Like any MC, each have their quirks.  It is a good bike for sure with lots of amenities, most quite reliable.
Several people have surpassed 100k on their TTSEs, but just like a BMW - shop work can be pricey so it's a tradeoff between $ and personal abilities.  Like any MC.
I've put 40k on mine in a tick over 5 years.  No regrets.

    Goodoni,
I think the biggest difference between these triples & a similar 1200RT lies in the hard charging & athletic engine that the SE has.
There is, also, the good bit of higher weigh, fairly up high in the chassis to contend with, standing still & at low, low speeds, compared to an RT.
My best advice is to test ride an SE, anyone. If you're hooked by it's performance, within 5 miles, you'll buy one. If not, you didn't make a wrong purchase.
    I think it's that simple.
I had a K1200lt, before the Trophy SE. So, for me, the weight & C of G weren't a problem.
