    I actually ordered some of those once and they were never shipped.  All the places I could find in the US didn't show them as available here, why I don't know.  Simpler for me to just use the wiring I already had in place for the original mount system I used.  Much better spot over the dash than where I had it.

    Or, another option is to just the connector off, and splice the wires from your GPS to the exposed positive and ground wires. Itís nice to have a dedicated switched power supply for the GPS, despite it being a little difficult to access...  :002:

    Thanks for all the information and experiences. Being cheap and a little lazy Iíll try using the included mounting hardware. There are already Ram balls out close to the grips and a fused power cord. The bars look wide enough it wonít obstruct anything.

    The main reason I used a switched power source from an "engine running" circuit is so the gps comes up and shuts off automatically depending on the power status.  Never any power use if the engine isn't running.

    Thatís nice setup I like it.

    After living in  Phoenix and having Snow Birds coming in winter itís not hard to tell the  locals residence from the snowbirds  when it was 50į all the locals are running around with jackets and snowbirds are in T-shirts short pants and flip-flops :008:
