    Power bronze hugger fatigue fracture

    Hi folks
Just putting this out there the Power bronze Hugger, mounting bracket is prone to fatigue fracture across two of the bolts that mount the hugger to the bracket. when this happens the hugger will go between the wheel and the tyre with very possibly calamitous results. now on my second unit
Has any one tried any of the Tiger/Explorer 1200 Huggers on the Trophy, other than the Power bronze unit?

     I suppose you're not buying a third item.  :008:

...the Power bronze Hugger, mounting bracket is prone to fatigue fracture across two of the bolts that mount the hugger to the bracket.

    Hang on, that's quite a statement.  :155:

When did you buy your hugger ?

Might be wrong but I think there was some sort of issue years ago (?), but that was a long long time ago and it was resolved subsequently.

If you want different hugger options then your topic needs a different title.

    Hi
Unless the design has significantly changed then it will still be prone to fatigue fractures.
My replacement item has no significant differences to the original item.

    Hi
it would have been about 2013 just after I bought the bike
it had a steel fabricated bracket with a U channel from the rear brake calliper bolts and a fork either riveted or welded on this folk flexes across the first pair of bolt holes that attach the actual hugger, hence unless the flexing is stopped it will always Fatigue at this point.

The new hugger I have is still made this way and will eventually go the same way at about 30k or so

The one on my 2013 purchased late that year seems to be fine.  No salt on the roads where I live, so no rust showing where pieces are joined.
