I already have another set of Dunlop Roadsmart IIIs waiting in the closet, plus a half life front tire, so I won't be in the market anytime soon...

I'll let someone else be the guinea pig!  :001:

If I get another 2K out of my Road 5 GTs I'll be lucky.  I was leaning towards the Dunlops next with all the positive reviews here, but I really like the Road 5s.  Thanks for adding complication to my decision making   :008: - I'm not afraid to be the guinea pig.

Now if I could just get rid of all the ice, snow, salt and sand I'd go put those miles on.  Betting somebody with a longer riding season than Maine's beats me to it!

Michelin seem to have dropped the GT designation from the Road 6 tyre.  Either they haven't developed a Heavy Duty version yet or they believe "one type suits all".  They state the load index but I don't know how that compares with the GT4.  In any case,  I'm not sure if the load rating is simply a vertical force or whether the sideways force of a very heavy bike is taken into account.   There's only one (very dodgy and in poor english) review on their website from someone coming from a Road 2 who states a good tyre in the wet,  but gives them a 4 out of 10 star rating for wet grip.  I'd say that review is worth diddly squat.

Think I'll wait a bit and let someone else be the guinea pig....
