    Hein Gericke Sheltex?

    Hi Forum,

From what I can find on line, Hein Gericke is no longer in business.  But I have a line on a new Hein Gericke Sheltex jacket with insulated liner.  This is maybe what I would call a three-quarter length.  Certainly longer than a bomber.
This brand is not very well known (at least to me, here in Canada).  Internet searches didnít exactly turn up a ton of information, except that quality is superb for the brand.

I am likely to grab it anyways, especially for the price, but wonder if anyone here has first hand experience with the brand and Sheltex in particular?  If I understand correctly, it is sort of like Gore-Tex?

I have been looking for a cooler weather riding jacket and my leather Joe Rocket sonic 2 is great for cool weather (especially with the liner) but doesnít fit me anymore.  Way too big!

I have been using Hein Gericke jackets (2) and trousers for about twelve years, and have been extremely happy with the quality, breathability and waterproofing. Mine carry the Gore-Tex label. The company still operates in Germany (or they were a few years ago).

They are, or were, a sister company of First Gear.  High quality gear from what I've read in the past about them.  I think the US distributor quit carrying the line.

Thanks guys!  I bought the jacket this morning!  The quality is fantastic!  Now if only this snow would go away so I can actually test it all out!   :190:  :151:
