    TTSE Valve Adjustment
    on: Mar 08, 2022, 03.50 pm

    Hello,

I have recently acquired my 2013 TTSE, it has 36K and I have no history of the previous maintenance.
I know it has fresh oil, air filter and plugs, the clutch and brake fluid look good and clean, and the brakes pads look good.
I'm hoping to get thru this summer before tackling the Fuel Filter replacement and the Valve Adjustments.
The bike runs great, how will I know or what are the signs it's time for a valve adjustment?

    Thanks You!

I don't have that many miles on mine yet, so I can't advised on any signs, but have
you tried speaking to your nearest Triumph Dealer - they may be able to access any
centrally stored electronic record of servicing on your Trophy and be able to advise
whether the Valves were checked and adjusted at 20,000 miles ( as scheduled ) or not ?

    Cheers  :821:

I just recently passed the 20,000 on mine and shortly after it started letting me know on every start that I was past due.  Took it in ($1,000) and everything has been checked out and dialed in.  Its go time now  :152:

:028: If it was done at a Triumph dealer, they will be able to see it on the network, I've seen proof of that.

My Trophy was running fine when I performed the 40,000 miles service last Autumn, but a number of valves did need adjustment anyway. The valves needing adjustment were only slightly out of spec, but to me that just proves that the 20k interval for adjustments is correct. It also proves to me that it's not a good idea to put off a major service because the motorcycle "seems to be running fine".

Some time ago I designed my own program for when I have to adjust the valves, it automatically tells you the value of the segment to place...
