    anybody find a better alternative for the hard, uncomfortable backrest on the Trophy top box?

    Probably best bet would be to have a shop recover the existing one, unless you would consider removing the top box and fabricating a plate on the rear rack to attach a backrest.  That of course eliminates some storage.  I don't recall having seen an improvement to the pad on the trunk on the forum, but someone I'm sure has done something to improve it for a significant other.

     My wife assures me she never leans back onto the backrest. She also added, that you might need a pillion with "more padding".  :164: :164:

    I have cut a piece of close density foam to fit below the Triumph back rest and use some self adhesive velcro to hold it in place my wife says is more comfortable.
    Various bikes, then I grew up !

    My young lady also complains the backrest doesn't actually reach her back - it probably needs to be twice the thickness to be effective.
