One, shortlived, experience with some Alpinestars and it was back to the same kind of hiking boots that I’ve been using since my geology field trips in the early 80’s! 😁

Similarly, I had brand new Hein Gericke "waterproof" boots.  They leaked like a sieve all the way through Germany. When I got back to England, I slammed them on the counter and demanded my money back.  I got it.

I've been pleasantly surprised at the Richa Slick boots in my current tour.  5 years old and still totally waterproof....I think they only cost £55

For the last 5 years or so wear Alpinestars "Firm" https://www.alpinestars.com/products/oscar-firm-drystar-oiled-boots

they look like regular boots, cover the ankle, have armour in the right places/CE approved and stayed waterproof for a day riding in Scottish rain.

Most importantly for me they are really comfy to walk around in off the bike.

Another Daytona wearer.  I have tall and short version M-Stars to compensate for my short inseam.  Gore Tex keeps dry, not even too hot in summer next to the engine.

Alpinestars *Air Plus V2* with GORE-TEX XCR climate membrane.
Really well for the hot summer.
