Does a Utopia backrest work with a Pillion?

I did a search but could not find anything definitive.

I called Utopia and they were very kind but had no rider feedback for the TTSE.

My pillion is 5'2" and about 115lbs if that matters.

    Thanks for any input!

It's not too clear from your post - What is it that you are looking for ?

Not that I can help in providing one, but is it a Back Rest for the Rider,
that fits on the Pillion Seat, or a Back Rest for the Pillion passenger ?

If it's the former, there's a couple of Photo's that might help in this Topic .....

    Driver backrest

The member concerned mentions that his wife found it too "snug" with the Back Rest was fitted,
so he bought a second Pillion seat and used that when he was carrying her,
and the Utopia Back Rest equipped Pillion seat when he was riding solo.

( He has since sold that seat and hasn't been on the Forum for over a year ).

    Cheers  :821:

    Thanks Coconut!

I am looking for a back rest for me.

I have the OEM top box, so perhaps that will offer a bit more room. (I suppose it could also mean less.)

I ride two up most of the time on this bike, so it would be nice if she could fit.

    Thanks again!

I'm pretty sure I have a Utopia.  Wife has had no issues with it.  I'm sure I would have heard if she did.

I have a Utopia too. I am a solo rider.
I must make a million adjustments, drilled new holes, etc to make it work.
After that work, I am happy with the backrest.

I also have a Utopia and wondered how it would affect the passenger, but I ride solo anyway.  I think it will depend on how you have it adjusted fore and aft so that it's comfortable for you that will determine if it is suitable for the passenger.

Similar to what Coconut stated, I have a uptopia backrest on my original pillion seat & ride with it solo. For "two up" riding, I have purchased a triumph "comfort" pillion seat & use that with a passenger. That way, I have "no complaints", at least about the seating.
The comfort pillion seat provides extra "padding" & I'm told that it makes the SE more comfortable than the K1200LT that it replaced!
But, that utopia backrest is heaven on a long ride, with the cruise control engaged & my feet up on pegs off the "adventure" bars.
    Just my solution..
