Shoei J-Cruise
« on: September 30, 2013, 12:27:48 am »
Has anyone tried this helmet? What's the verdict?
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

I have had the J-Cruise for about 2 months and have done about 2,000 ks with it. I love it. It's a good fit (big round head - not always easy to find a good fit) the visor comes right down to the bootom of my chin so it is great for rain or cold, but still gives you plenty of air. the vents, front and back work well and you can feel the difference when you open them. The vision is great. Very wide field of view and very clear. This is the third helmet I have had with the internal Sun Visor (Nolan N102 and Shark Evoline) and the Shoei makes the other 2 look like toys. The quality of the sunscreen is amazing. I find the full face to claustrophobic and the Shark I kept open all the time anyway so I went for the J-cruise open face. The build quality is excellent, as you would expect at these prices.

Mick,

Spot on mate just bought one myself and it's everything you said. Best helmet by far.

Cheers,

Scott

Santa Claus came through with a J Cruise for both of us. He brought white, so clever of him to know that's what we preferred for greater visibility!
I'll post a review in May after we have a chance to use them.

Would be interested in your feed back.  Parts guy at my brother's dealerships keeps trying to sell me one.  Tells me I will love it.

It's a bit late but we did get the J Cruise Shoei helmets. I absolutely love mine and have been wearing it for most rides all summer. The internal sun shade works well. I have several Shoei helmets that all fit well so I guess I have a Shoei-shaped head.
Unfortunately the small we got for the wife is too small. She's been wearing it all summer and when she tried to use ear buds she had problems. After discussing it she concluded it wasn't the right helmet for her.
