Hello, all. My Trophy is due it's 20,000 miles service , the Big One.... I have been quoted $1825 + tax for the service (which assumes no adjustment needed). I was prepared for it being expensive but not that expensive.

    Does this quote sound typical?

Ouch.   I plan to do my 20K service myself this winter, but I know it will be a long time consuming job. I would guess I'll have 40 hours of Saturdays into it since it's my first time on the Trophy, but I will just be taking my time and being really careful.  I'll have months to get it done though!

I suppose $1825 works out to 15 hours of labor plus some supplies?   I guess it doesn't shock me, but its definitely expensive.

The 20,000 mile service estimate for mine in April 2021 was $1,055.  When I had them actually perform the work we added on a few things and ended up spending more than that.

Thank you for the insight. I wish I had the skills to do it myself. Good luck!

That is a significant difference. I will ask a couple of different dealers.

I looked my bill up for the 20,000-mile service on the Trophy and it was $1075.41 of which it had 8 hours of labor, that was back in 6/16/2017. Since the bike when out of warranty I have been doing the service myself. I would guess the 40,000-mile service took me 10 to 15 hrs., because I don't do it every day and I don't work on it constantly, only when I get time. I would look around that sounds like too much money. I noticed on the bill they charged me $15/quart of oil; I usually pay about half that.

I have since called one other dealer, who indicated "around $2000 plus tax". When I told him it sounds expensive he revealed that estimate included valve balancing (adjustment not just inspection) , he said that he had not had a Trophy come through for a. 20,000 that did not need valves balanced.

Hmmmm,  I have had mine checked twice, different dealer each time.  No valve adjustment necessary.  Bike runs great with over 47,000 miles on it.
