collection date awaited
« on: September 30, 2013, 06:57:04 AM »
Gimlet, from North Oxfordshire.
Greetings all, collection of new bike imminent, cant wait.
Feel like a kid again, waiting for that first ride on my own machine and thinking about the first service date.
Shall I book it in for next day like I did with my very first bike back in 1978 or give it a week?
already told the wife that I need to avoid undue stress on the new motor so first few hundred miles need to be done one up.
I think she believed me.

Welcome!  I still have a date for collecting mine, so will just wait patiently  :148:  I have a few rides lined up in the next month, and it looks like the old bike will have to do.  At least we are in Spring coming on summer  :821:

Congratulations Gimlet and  :400:  to the Club !

I personally think that it makes good sense to ride those first 500 solo,
as it gives you chance to get to know the bike and how it handles, before carrying a pillion  :169:

Great idea to bin the other half for the first 500 miles. Unfortunately Sarah came with me to pick the bike up. That said, I did do over 300 miles on the demo.

Enjoy the bike.

 :401: to the forum!

You will enjoy every minute on your new TT! Probably you should inform your pillion that you won't be home for some time  :745:
