Check the battery with a volt meter, should have at least 12.7 volts to start the bike. Battery may have a bad cell and can’t hold a charge.

Please confirm the year of your Trophy.

I don't fully understand what you mean by, "Now all I get is TTC Mode (non starter)" ?

Please explain what happens when you :

    Switch the Ignition ON :
What lights come on, what do the Instruments do, what messages appear

    Press the Starter button :
( Remember that the Clutch lever must be pulled in, The Kill Switch set to RUN,
the Sidestand must be UP if a Gear is selected, or if it's down the Gearbox must be in Neutral )
What do you hear ( and where from ) / what happens when the Starter button is pressed ?

    Cheers  :821:

After leaving my triumph trophy overnight with a recharged battery, I still get TCC mode and bike clunks when start button pressed (???) I’m not aware of a RESET button.   Desperation setting in.

Hi coconut.  Yes clutch in ( neutral too ). The screen doesn’t rise when ignition turned on ( it should ). Normal lights are on but as I press starter button it cluncks  and TCC mode kicks in.  Left bike overnight  same happened.   When I had a flat battery I did try bumping bike to start. Downhill.   ( you DONT wanna try pushing it back uphill !!).  Any clues?  Tia

I still don't know what you mean by "TCC Mode" ?

Does the "Clunk" seem to be coming from just forward of the Battery ?

That is where the Starter Solenoid is located.

If it is that, that is "Clunking" there are several possible causes :

    • Faulty Battery not holding its charge
    • Main battery terminals are not clean and tight
    • Corrosion within the Main Fuse next to the Battery
( Pull the fuse and look inside for signs of corrosion ).
    • Poor Ground connection from the Battery to the bike -
this is on the right hand side of the bike behind the Fairing above the Clutch housing
    • Loose connections at the Solenoid - check they are all clean and tight
( there are 2 push on spade terminals and two heavy duty cables secured with nuts ).
    • Poor electrical connection at the Starter Motor
    • Faulty Starter Relay ( unlikely if the main Starter Solenoid is "clunking" )
but worth checking if all else fails
    • Faulty Starter Motor

If you have no joy, as you aren't that far from me,
I could visit and see if I can help ( possibly on Saturday ) - Send me a Private Message
( not in this Forum Topic ) with your address and phone number  and I'll give you a call !
( Click the "Private Message" button on the left below my "Coconut" avatar ! )

    Cheers  :821:
