Cruise control - is it broken or am I not doing it right?

    Hi all
This is going to expose me as a complete noob - I've had my TTSE for a few days and have only managed one ride-out where I had the opportunity to use the cruise control - but I couldn't get it working. I'm pretty sure I was meeting the conditions for activation (in 4th gear or higher, not riding the clutch or brakes, CC button latched in, etc) but could not get the light to come on when pressing the SET button.

I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong with the throttle - so this is my question: at the moment you press the SET button, what should you be doing with the throttle? Keeping it where it is to maintain the speed you are doing? Releasing it altogether for a second? Something else?

I've done the DTC check and have got P0000, so there are no faults currently registering in its brain. Is there anything else I can do to check operation of the cruise control before I contact the dealer I bought the bike off?

    Thanks in advance TTSE hivemind!

It is very possible that if the bike has had the battery disconnected for some time, the cruise control can become inoperative.  There is a procedure to follow that will reactivate the cruise control but I can't recall it right now.  Do a search on the site for the procedure.  I've had this happen to me 2x.

Any chance the brake light is stuck "on" ?  That will prevent the cruise from working.

BTW, the cruise is "set"  when the set button is released, not when first depressed.

I think that I found the sequence.  Don't be surprised if you have to do it several times.

    Resetting Cruise Control
The conditions are Ignition key on (engine not running) and cruise control switched off:
    Activate front brake switch
    Rear brake switch
    Clutch switch
Twist grip switch (push the throttle in the closed position)
    Activate cruise on/off switch
    Cruise accelerate switch
    Cruise decelerate switch

Make sure you are not rolling the throttle forward as you push the cruise set button.  The throttle deactivates cruise control when rolled forward.  I had this happen a few times when I first started using the cruise control.
