    Sturgis and my Triumph Trophy

Last week I thought I would visit the largest motorcycle rally in the United States in Sturgis South Dakota.

My first day out I left Dallas and the temperature was 86° I left at 4:05 AM.

My biggest issue was the “road snakes” blown tires and tread left on the road And with the temperatures being so hot there was a lot of that.

My first day I decided to ride to Winner South Dakota right at 850 miles.

My second day was approximately 260 miles to get to Sturgis and spend the day.

So my morning started out on the way to Sturgis.
I rolled into Sturgis approximately 9:30 AM yes I left early from Winner South Dakota.

I had taken and ridden so far the first day due to the temperatures by the time I had made it into Kansas the temperature was already at 90° and as I approached northern Nebraska and southern South Dakota temperatures were in the mid 90s. So at least I had made it out of the 100s in Texas.

Sturgis South Dakota is a town of approximately 7000 people, the expected group of motorcyclist coming into South Dakota to go to the rally was approximately 500,000.
Which is why the cheapest hotel room one could fine was approximately $350 a night up to $500 a night.

I spent the day in Sturgis visiting checking things out and generally having a good time. The interesting thing was I was at the Iron Horse and a gentleman was sitting at a table with a leather vest on and had a Triumphs patch on it so I walked out ask him about his try and patch after being invited to sit down I visited with him for a while come to find out he had ridden up on his 2013 Triumph Trophy a blue one.

He had an issue with his back and could no longer ride his Harley long distances anymore and had found his Trophy a great bike to travel in.

Somehow he knew that the blue Trophies were the fastest!

He told me one of his names on the forum was John Harley.
I indicated to him that after our little shut down and meeting that if he wanted he could become a member of the Twisted Trophies.

As you can see there’s a lot of Harleys there and a lot of crazy people, I’m not sure if I was one of them or not. 😇
