After the day in Sturgis I had a hotel in Gillette Wyoming about 120 miles away. On my way out of town in front of me was a silver Triumph Trophy With Ohio license plates riding with a boss hog motorcycle next to them they were heading west also unfortunately I never got to talk to either of them both of them with Ohio license plates.

I got to my destination in Wyoming.

I found my hotel room early and made it out of the heat.
The next morning when I got ready to leave early I found myself in good company.

When I was eating breakfast I talked to a few of them and found out I was going the same direction as a couple of them and they had to get there quick as they were a few hundred miles away from Cheyenne and I was allowed to tagalong! Needless to say that was a fun ride!!

I stayed off the main highways 90% of the time as most of the 10% could not be avoided.

It was nice being off the beaten path even though temperatures were in the low to mid 90s for most of the trip.

I wanted to go but too many things going on at work and I'm not yet at that retired stage of life.  Maybe next year; hope you enjoyed and glad you spotted a few of those wild trophies up there.  I saw a youtube video from someone up there and he walked by a silver one (maybe that Ohio plate you saw).  Thanks for sharing.

Im not retired yet but maybe in a couple years, I just enjoy riding and I thought why not check out Sturgis.

Ive been through Sturgis the week after Sturgis before ridden the area A few times and just enjoy the outdoors.

So I thought this year I would go by and see what the whole rally was about.

I think at this point the biggest thing is the town making their entire years income in a week.

Was it fun yes I think everybody should see it and go to it at least once.
My goal was to just have a good time and ride.

The only drawback was this has been an especially hot summer I have a Camelback in my Triumph tank bag that holds 50 oz of water and would fill it up every gas stop and down a large Gatorade every stop also.

The back roads have towns few and far between show stopping for gas every 150 miles or so was a necessity not necessarily needed unless you want to walk a few miles to get gas.

I was in no hurry to re-create the Wild Hogs With having to take and push my bike to the next gas station!

Thanks for sharing. I can't wait for it to cool down. I can't take this kind of heat we have had this summer. Come on Fall! I'm ready to take my bikes off the battery tenders.
