I'm at 4000miles and I'd guess about 50% of life used

I just had the Road 6 GT put on the front because the Avon Storm 3D XM's are on backorder until the end of this year.  My front had 9463 miles on it so it was slightly less than my last one that had 10K on it when it was replaced.  The Road 6 GT is a pretty darned good looking addition, and after the get together in Arkansas I'll get a matching rear installed.  My last Avon rear went 13K miles and was definitely showing some loss of wet weather grip so I'll need to be aware of that until I have it changed.  I got in a little short ride to seat in new brake pads and the front tire felt pretty good from first impressions.  Seems to ride well, is quiet, handles well and turns in with little effort.  Course my Trophy has Lust lowering links and since it was brand new I was a little more cautious.  All in all if it wears well and maintains a good profile it may be my go to tire.

So at 6K miles since I put the 6GTs on my bike it doesn't really need new ones quite yet but I also want fresh rubber with good tread depth assuming I'm going to hit heavy rain at some point in this 3K+ mile round trip week so new front and back are on order and should be in any day now.  I'll tell the dealer doing the swap that I want to keep the old tires and I'll burn off the last few thousand miles of tread after i wear out the new ones.

Going by the lifespan of my Avon's I'm guessing from the experience of other users that the Road 6's will last quite some time for me.  It will be very interesting to see how well they work in the rain when I have them at both ends. :821:

So here is my pair that were just pulled off at a little over 6,000 miles of vigorous riding.  Did one multi state trip on them (about 2K of the miles) and the other 4K has been driving around Phoenix at a vigorous pace (lots of stops and 3/4-full throttle launches; I engine break pretty heavily so the rear has most of the wear)

By the look of them I'd say they still have "a few more miles" left on them. That is if you're money poor. Just saying. A very good friend of mine was attending The Border Run, a get together of long distance riders at the South Australia and Western Australia's border village in August a few years back. The rear tyre was, let's just say rooted. By looping a "liberal amount" of heavy packing tape round the rim and tyre he was able to make it back to Port Augusta, South Australia [950 Kilometres] for a new tyre. This was on a Kawasaki GTR 1400.

I've asked for a Michelin tech to email me so I can find out what the tread depth is on a new Road 6 GT.  Avon's website lists the tread depth on their tires but Michelin's site does not as far as I can see.  If those are the wear bars shown in the pictures by swilkins65 it looks like there is a lot of life left in them.  I'm going to measure my front that only has a couple of hundred miles on it and record the tread depth for future reference.

New Front (4.35mm from surface at center to bottom of the main grove (which is past the wear bars; at 4.35 the tire would be a slick)
Old Front with 6,000+ miles (2.86mm)

New Rear (5.02mm from surface to bottom of main grove)
Old Rear with 6,000 miles (2.68mm)

Depth before I would of hit wear bars on old tires
    Front 2.76mm
    Rear 1.32mm
